General diet information
Nutritional foundations:
These diets are low but not devoid of carbohydrates— carbs are more present on higher expenditure days such as exercise days (weight training). The diets are high in animal-based proteins. On rest days, emphasis is placed on proteins from meats and vegetables. Micronutrients such as vitamins and minerals are never neglected and are in fact a fundamental part of the plan.
Scientific basis of these nutritional plans:
These diets are based on the principle of caloric balance set forth by the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) and endorsed by the NSCA (my certifying organization). Additionally, the food selection was made based on many of the principles and knowledge taught to me during the Designing a Sustainable Nutrition Plan course from Harvard Medical School.
