Exercise is my passion, and as a personal trainer I believe that knowing and understanding what we want to deal with is imperative to facing it.
Professional
Background
1. Personal perspective
Exercise is my passion, and as a personal trainer I believe that knowing and understanding what we want to deal with is imperative to facing it. That's why since I was 16 years old I began preparing specifically as a resistance training instructor.
I give my maximum effort to achieve what I'm looking for, whether I'm training, studying, or workingâI always give my best.
My work excites me, I'm passionate about it, and I seek to help all people who are willing to help themselves. The happiness and satisfaction a client feels when reaching their goals fills me with pride and drives me to give them my best.
I love what I do, and my work has allowed me to train some of the most disciplined and enthusiastic people I know, while in other cases it has allowed me to reveal these qualities in people who hadn't yet discovered them in themselves.
2. Academic preparation
In addition to personal and professional experience, every personal trainer needs academic training in physical conditioning, strength training, and sports nutrition in order to have the essential scientific knowledge to train the body and be effective in achieving goals.
For this reason, since I started training I had great interest in learning more about physical exercise through academic preparation.
Physical training certification
Today I hold a CPR certification from the American Heart Association, I graduated in Physical Education and Sports (Summa Cum Laude), and in addition to several resistance training courses, I have maintained the NSCA-CPT (Certified Personal Trainer) certification for over 10 yearsâthis is the most recognized and highest-level certification for personal trainers in the world.
Thanks to my NSCA certification, I have obtained educational opportunities directly from the best researchers, coaches, and physical trainers in the world. The knowledge and tools I have gained through the organization throughout my career have been extremely useful.
Sports nutrition
In addition to my specific preparation as a personal trainer, I have focused on extensive training in sports nutrition, taking various courses nationally and internationally for creating diets and nutrition plans for athletes, sedentary individuals, and the general population who wish to achieve their physical goals and individual objectives.
Today I hold several sports nutrition courses and have direct training from Harvard Medical School Executive Education, from which I currently have two courses focused on diet preparation and healthy eating: "Health and Wellness: Designing a Sustainable Nutrition Plan" and "Lifestyle Medicine: Nutrition and the Metabolic Syndrome".
Ongoing international training
The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is the world's leading authority on physical conditioning and strength training, with the most renowned and relevant scientific journals on physical training and sports nutrition in the world.
From Olympic athlete coaches, NBA and NFL trainers, celebrity trainers to special forces instructors and scientific researchersâall are certified members and active collaborators of the organization.
To obtain a certification, it is necessary to have advanced studies in training and nutrition, in addition to the CPR course and passing the exam for the desired certification.
As a certified personal trainer (NSCA-CPT), I must maintain constant academic preparation, attending conferences in the United States, completing online seminars and exams, and when possible, publishing research and scientific articles.
The purpose of this constant preparation is to ensure that the certified trainer remains as up-to-date as possible and continues to be competent as a professional throughout their career.
To renew the certification every 3 years, the organization verifies that the minimum requirement of these studies has been met, called "Continuing Education Units (CEUs)".
This level of preparation and demand is the highest in the world for personal trainers, and I am proud to be part of it.
3. Professional experience
I have over 16 years of experience as a trainer. During this time I have served more than 5,000 people from at least 15 different nationalities, of which more than 240 have become my personal clients.
Since I was 12 years old I have exercised every week almost uninterruptedly until today. At 16 I entered a gym for the first time, at 22 I graduated as a Physical Educator and obtained the most important certification for personal trainers worldwide.
I train people of all ages, from pre-teens to older adults. I have had the experience and joy of working with some of the best professionals in the country in their fields, as well as learning directly from the best in the world.
I have trained clients of all fitness levels, from people who have climbed Mount Everest, amateur athletes, cancer survivors, to people who have been sedentary their entire lives.
These are the knowledge, experience, and passion I use to help my clients achieve their goals.
4. My programming journey
Personal background
My career has always been centered around exercise. I'm a personal trainer by both profession and passion, but the limitations of my current line of work have driven me to explore new ways to expand my business.
Experience in programming
None before mid 2024.
Before registering for CS50X on the 25th of October 2024, I only took a couple of courses on Codecademy on August 16, 2024. Since then I focused only on CS50X.
But dare I say (as the teacher from CS50 always said hahaha) the experience I had from a few years putting together dozens of spreadsheets on Excel using IF formulas for simple programs helped me A LOT.
About the CS50X course
Well, I can say that I am immensely proud. The way I approached the first weeks of the course was by avoiding at all cost using the help videos, and by doing that I was able to learn from my literally thousands of mistakes during the course.
After week 4 I did start to use the videos from Doug and Bryanâthose videos are incredibly useful (too much, that is why I avoided them at almost all cost at first).
From the beginning of the course it was very apparent that this was a real programming course from Harvard. I thank all the staff and wish you the best for the years to come.
Goals and future endeavors
My main goal with this course was to experience more about the world of programming, and try to make it as tough as it could be by avoiding to search for help online of any kindâand so I did with all of the C programming language. After that, the use of frameworks basically requires you to seek online for the functions and tools, because in this day and age we can use AI to basically reduce the time, effort, and (at least from my perspective) the intrinsic value of a lot of things.
My main goal with learning to program is to develop my own apps, which I hope will be of great use for a lot of people.
5. Final thoughts and recognition
I would like to thank my momâof course an ex-client of mineâmy dad, and everyone that has trusted me, including all my clients. None of this would have been possible without you.
I made the first basic version of ths site in 1 day, so the future holds a lot of promise. Thank you for reading this and I hope that everything I make will be of great use, quality, and help people enjoy their lives even more. Y sĂ, soy yo el que dice esto jajaja.
