By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. Instructor JP Diet was designed with privacy in mind — your nutrition data stays on your device, and we never sell your information.

Instructor JP Diet was designed to function without requiring personal identifiers such as your full name, email address, phone number, or precise location. The App focuses on nutrition data that helps you track your dietary intake without compromising your privacy.

1.2 No Account Required

You do not need to create an account or provide personal information to use Instructor JP Diet. All data is stored locally on your device by default.

1.3 Categories of Data

The App may collect and process the following categories of non-identifying data:

  • Food and meal entries you log
  • Caloric and macronutrient intake
  • Body weight (if you choose to track it)
  • Daily and weekly nutrition trends
  • App settings and language preferences

2. Nutrition and Meal Data

2.1 What We Collect

When you log meals and foods in the App, the following data is recorded:

  • Food items selected from the database or custom entries
  • Portion sizes (in grams)
  • Meal timing (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks)
  • Calculated calories and macronutrients (protein, carbohydrates, fats)
  • Date of each entry

2.2 How This Data Is Used

Nutrition data is used exclusively to display your daily intake, calculate macro distributions, generate graphs and trends, and help you track progress toward your nutritional goals. This data stays on your device.

2.3 Sensitivity of Nutrition Data

We recognize that dietary information can be personal and sensitive. We do not analyze your eating patterns for marketing purposes, share your food logs with third parties, or use this data for any purpose other than helping you track your nutrition.

3. Body Metrics

3.1 Optional Weight Tracking

Instructor JP Diet may include optional body weight tracking features. If you choose to log your weight, this data is:

  • Stored locally on your device
  • Used only to display weight trends and progress
  • Never shared with third parties
  • Deletable at any time

3.2 No Required Metrics

You are not required to enter body weight or any other personal metrics to use the App's core nutrition tracking features.

4. Food Database Usage

4.1 Curated Database

Instructor JP Diet includes a food database of 8,700+ items, including 900+ Latin American and Costa Rican foods, curated over 14 years by an NSCA-CPT certified trainer with Harvard nutrition education.

4.2 Search Queries

When you search for foods in the database, your search queries are processed locally to find matching items. We do not track or store your search history for marketing or profiling purposes.

4.3 Custom Foods

If you create custom food entries, this data is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers or shared with other users.

5. Ecosystem Synchronization

5.1 Optional Sync with Training JP

If you choose to sync Instructor JP Diet with Training JP (our training app), the following data may be shared between the apps:

  • Calories burned from training sessions (received from Training JP)
  • Training dates and activity levels

This synchronization is optional and requires your explicit consent. It allows Instructor JP Diet to automatically adjust your daily caloric targets based on your actual training activity.

5.2 No Third-Party Sync

Instructor JP Diet does not sync data with third-party apps, social networks, or advertising platforms. Your nutrition data stays within the Instructor JP ecosystem.

6. How We Use Information

We use the collected information exclusively to:

  • Display your daily caloric and macronutrient intake
  • Generate nutrition graphs, trends, and progress reports
  • Calculate remaining daily allowances
  • Provide meal timing analysis
  • Sync with Training JP for integrated calorie management (with your consent)
  • Improve App reliability and fix technical issues

We do not sell your data or use it for behavioral advertising, weight-loss marketing, or any purpose unrelated to your nutrition tracking.

7. Data Sharing

7.1 We Do Not Sell Data

Instructor JP Diet does not sell, rent, or trade your personal or nutrition data to third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other commercial purpose.

7.2 Limited Sharing

Your data may only be shared in the following limited circumstances:

  • Within Instructor JP Ecosystem: With your explicit consent, to sync with Training JP
  • Service Providers: With hosting/infrastructure providers necessary to operate the App (if cloud features are used)
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect rights and safety

8. Data Storage and Security

8.1 Local-First Approach

Instructor JP Diet follows a local-first approach. Your nutrition data is stored on your device, giving you full control over your information. No cloud account is required.

8.2 Security Measures

If data is transmitted (e.g., for ecosystem sync), we use industry-standard encryption to protect your information.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

9.1 Your Control

You can delete individual meal entries, entire days, or all nutrition history at any time through the App. Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored data from your device.

9.2 Deletion Requests

If you have synced data with the Instructor JP ecosystem and wish to delete it from our servers, contact us at the email addresses below. We will process your deletion request promptly and provide confirmation.

10. Children

Instructor JP Diet is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The App is designed for adults managing their own nutrition.

11. International Transfers

The App may operate globally, and if cloud features are used, data may be processed or stored in jurisdictions outside your location. We commit to maintaining appropriate safeguards for international data transfers as required by applicable law.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify users through the App if the changes are significant.
